Daily Overmind For September 24th – The Huge Irony of the Emmys, and more

How about those Emmys, huh? As always the broadcast ran slightly over and the winners for Best Comedy, Modern Family, had their mics AND lights shut off in the middle of their acceptance speech. Boo!  Ironically, Jimmy Kimmel seemed to side with the network clock watchers by asking the audience “What, you want to stay for another hour?”.  A joke, of course, but maybe not such a funny one.  Speaking of ‘funny’ things though …

– The Emmys opening skit was one of the funniest yet, can you see what is so delightfully (and frustratingly) ironic about it? (ScreenCrush)

– Detective Munch from Law & Order: SVU has appeared on 10 other TV shows, including The Wire and Sesame Street! (OmgFacts)

– That Lindsay Lohan flick, where she plays a porn star Elizabeth Taylor.  It finally has a trailer, and the shocker is … it looks pretty good!  (The Blemish)

– Eric Stonestreet won an Emmy, now what’s he going to do?  Appear on American Horror Story again, of course!  (Perez Hilton)

– Damian Lewis has something in common with Breaking Bad fans this morning.  He thought Bryan Cranston was going to beat him too!  (Pop Sugar)

– Here’s one for you Kate Walsh / Private Practice / Grey’s Anatomy fans: enough information has surfaced to suggest Walsh will bring Addison back to Grey’s Anatomy after PP wraps this season.  (TV Fanatic)
