After a career of taking down pedophiles, getting pregnant, taunting mutants, and roller skating, Ellen Page is going to pick up the pen. That's right -- Page will be penning a script. Well, several scripts.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Page, 22, will be writing a new HBO comedy, entitled Stitch'n'Bitch, about two girls from Brooklyn who move to L.A. to make a career in the entertainment industry. Of course, the obvious hilarity ensues.
But will Stitch'n'Bitch be a series to watch? It's important to remember that Ellen Page didn't write the whip-smart dialogue of Juno -- that was screenwriter Diablo Cody. We have no idea what Page's humor will be like; slapstick or sarcastic? And will we see any more familiar faces attached to the project other than hers?
The answer: Maeby.
No, I didn't spell that wrong. Alia Shawkatt, of Arrested Development fame (she played Maeby Funke), will be executive producing the project. She recently appeared with Page in Drew Barrymore's directorial debut Whip It.
Stitch'N'Bitch will probably premiere next year. We'll keep you posted on the updates.
