Felicia Day who, like fellow actress Summer Glau, is a favorite of Joss Whedon, will be starring in an upcoming SyFy original movie.  Day's past TV credits include guest appearances in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, as well as starring in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, also starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion.

SyFy Channel has previously aired modern re-tellings of the Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland and now Red is the newest original movie to come from the network.  Day is set to play "a werewolf-hunting descendant of Little Red Riding Hood".

In the action-packed Red, Red (Day) brings her fiancé home, where he meets the family and learns about their business – hunting werewolves. He's skeptical until bitten by a werewolf. When her family insists he must be killed, Red tries saving him.

Kavan Smith (Stargate Atlantis) and Stephen McHattie (Watchmen) will also star in the movie, which is set to air in 2011.

Day also stars in the online webseries "The Guild" and starred in the awesome video "Do You Want to Date My Avatar", which is one of those ridiculously catchy songs that is sure to stay in your head (check it out below).
