Game of Thrones Star Peter Dinklage Is Going To Be A Father

Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage is one of the best actors on television right now. Playing the manipulative and witty dwarf Tyrion Lannister (nicknamed the "Imp"), Dinklage has quickly become a fan and critical favorite of the series, a great feat considering the show's enormous main cast. There's even supporting actor Emmy buzz going around his name. And now, Dinklage is doing even better -- he's going to be a father.

The 42-year-old actor and his wife, director Erica Scmidt, are expecting their first child together. The child will be their first since their 2005 Las Vegas wedding.  With his birthday falling on Saturday (6/11), just a day after the birth announcement, it's hard to say that this hasn't been a good weekend for Dinklage.

You can congratulate Dinklage when you see him Sunday night (6/12) on HBO, in the penultimate episode of the first season of Game of Thrones, entitled "Baelor." The last we saw of Tyrion, he was marching off to war under orders from his father, Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance). Will Tyrion survive the fighting against the army of Robb Stark? You'll have to wait until then to find out. But there are some new things coming down the pike to Tyrion in this episode, and I can't wait to tune in to see how they play out.
