Glee has arguably taken the world (or at least North American so far) by storm. So it's no wonder that the showrunners would want to capitalize on that popularity.
Variety has reported that Fox will be releasing the first half of season 1 of Glee on DVD just before the end of the year - December 29, to be exact. Called "Glee Season One: Road to Sectionals", the DVD will be released just a few weeks after the show breaks for the holiday season.
Lest some of you cry foul and claim that this is just a ploy for money, Fox has annouced that vouchers will be included in the DVD that you can use towards the purchase of the full season DVD that will be released in 2010. The only bad news to come out of this is that the show will be on hiatus for a few months and will return in the spring (this seems to be common among a lot of Fox shows - like Prison Break, for example). No word on a return date yet, but at least our DVDs will keep us warm during those long winter months.
The "Road to Sectionals" DVD will contain the following:
Beyond "Glee's" first 13 episodes, the DVD will include the director's cut of the pilot episode, behind-the-scenes features, cast audition videos and music performances from the show.
So, uh.....I pretty much know what I will be doing on December 29.
