When House, M.D. launched in fall of 2004, it was immediately lauded as one of the best medical procedurals. I loved it myself, and was especially drawn in by the dynamic between House and Wilson, as brilliantly played by Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard.
But after season five, I can’t say that I enjoy the show any longer. Storylines have grown stale, and I find myself just no longer invested in any of the characters, even my reigning favorite, Wilson. House, even though it is the number one show in the world, has proven to me that too much of a good thing is indeed a bad thing.
With the approach of the 2009/2010 television season and the amount of new shows I’ll be watching, I feel that it’s time to say goodbye to House. It had a nice run, but all good things must come to an end – the producers of Lost realized that just in the nick of time, and new shows like Day One (which will have a limited run) are starting to realize that too. So, without further ado, here are three reasons why I’m saying goodbye to House.
