News broke today on EOnline.com that a domestic squable at the Wernersville, Pa home of Jon and Kate resulted in the police being called to the house. The dispute between the divorcing couple was a common one, for the most part, but still showed the extensiveness of Jon's douchebaggery, and the lengths to which Kate will go to in order to create drama for their ratings declining show.
The scoop is that it was Jon's night with the kids, and that Kate showed up at the house unannounced. She'd just returned from a media tour and supposedly just wanted to see her kids. But Jon wouldn't let her in, since it was his night with the kids. Witnesses say that the two were screaming at each other and that Jon wouldn't open the gates and allow her access to the house. Also present at the house was Stephanie Santoro, the 23-year-old babysitter/ cocktail waitress hired by Jon, and who is rumored (by RadarOnline) to have spent the night with him, even though he is still seeing Hailey Glassman. Regardless whether those rumors are true, Kate didn't like her being there one bit, according to reports.
Eventually the yelling ended and Kate left to stay the night at a nearby hotel, and the police left the scene without arresting anyone. But I have to ask, was Kate going to the house real, or just a media stunt. I have no doubt that once she got to the house, and Jon wouldn't let her inside, the yelling and anger seen was real, I'm just questioning her original motives for going there in the first place. Ratings on their show have been dropping, and when the ratings drop on reality tv, the drama usually goes sky-high, which is certainly the case here. It does make me sad a bit to see this, and I'm sure we'll be subjected to seeing the whole event played out on the show. I can't help but wonder who's selling out who here, the network or Jon and Kate.
In reality, its things like this, along with Jon's care-free attitude and Kate's extortion of her children that are killing the shows ratings. There may still be people watching, but I predict that number to dwindle further and further. My seven and nine year old daughters used to watch the show all the time. They loved it and hated to miss an episode, but now I have no desire to let them watch it. I'd prefer they not witness this train-wreck, or see the extent to which people will go to make a buck. I have to assume I'm not the only parent who thinks this way, and so tubes across the country are tuning Jon and Kate plus 8 out. If they had any dignity left, they'd end this series now and salvage whatever they can of their damaged family...for the sake of their children.

They aren't divorced yet, so at best they have an informal custody agreement, but the children's wishes and well-being should take precedent over that. carrie, it hasn't aired in an episode yet. The cops were just called the other night and it hit the news, but no word on when or if it'll make it onto the small screen. We'll let you know when and if we hear its coming.
