M. Night. Shyamalan And His New Fox Show, Wayward Pines

How this happened after his string of terrible films recently we do not know, but writer/director M. Night Shyamalan has his own TV show coming to Fox, and they seem pretty intent on hyping it up. The show is called Wayward Pines, and is based off the Blake Crouch novel, Pines. From what we have found out to far, the only thing we can really tell you is we think it might be a kind of Twin Peaks mystery thriller, and the actors and actresses he has cast thus far are amazing.

Just a few of the names associated with Wayward Pines so far as Terrence Howard, Matt Dillon, Juliette Lewis, Carla Gugino, and Melissa Leo, among others. Though little is known about the show in details, those who have read the book said we can expect a real thrilling ride (if it’s done right) with just the right amount of twists and turns to keep the viewer entranced.

But as you can imagine, our hesitation sparks forth from the fact that Shyamalan has completely eschewed good films lately. Can you remember the last time he attached his name to something that didn’t let you down in some way? Maybe I am a cynic, but I can’t. But I also have faith that you give anyone good enough source material to work with, and they can carve something interesting out of it, so I guess I will just have to wait and see if Wayward Pines is just the kind of thriller show that works, or one that we want to shut off just a few minutes into the first episode.

As of right now, though, we are officially intrigued. Read more details about the casting over at Uproxx.
