Mad Men and Fringe Actors to Star in New Video Game

Rockstar Games, the video game publisher behind the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead games, have unveiled a trailer to their next big release: L.A. Noire.

L.A. Noire is a crime thriller set in 1940's Los Angeles. Players will step into the shoes of Cole Phelps, a detective with the LAPD, whose voice is that of none other than Mad Men's Aaron Stanton (Ken Cosgrove). Fringe's John Noble (Dr. Walter Bishop) will also be lending his voice talents.

From the looks of the trailer, the game seems to be much more subdued and quiet than current hits like Call of Duty or Fallout: New Vegas. Players must find clues and keep notes in hopes of solving a series of grisly murders. Players without a Playstation 3 that really wished they could play Heavy Rain may finally get a chance to play a dark, grim crime thriller.

The real treat in the trailer, however, is that the animated faces make real expressions. Most games of the day, while featuring better animation than games of the previous decade, feature characters whose expressions look closer to soulless puppets than real people.

L.A. Noire is due out this coming spring from Rockstar Games.
