NBC Comedy Undateable Gets May Premiere Date

I got to sit down last month with the guys from Undateable earlier this month, where we talked about the finer details of love scenes with Meryl Streep and why it is important to know how to properly use recording apps. The one thing I walked away from the experience with was just how nice and humble the guys were. Well, Chris D’elia was a bit too cool for school, but that is his whole steez, so I understood. Note I said “steez” there to try to sound more cool and worldly, and for those who don’t know, that pretty much means style. But all in all, they had me laughing the whole time, and thinking to myself that if their contagious humor was captured by the show, they have a real hit on their hands with their new NBC show, Undateable. Well, good news. Undateable got an official launch date!

Undateable officially enters the NBC lineup on Thursday, May 29th at 9:00 p.m. I gotta say, good for the guys. That is a pretty good time slot to be popping into. You don’t want a Friday slot, because no one is around. You don’t want a weekend slot because weekend TV is a real gamble, and anything past 9:00 could have been a death sentence. The goal is to hit the target of the 18-29 year old crowd, and that Thursday slot is primed for that. Plus, all the cool kids know that in college, Thursdays are “thirsty Thursdays”, which means that is ample pre-gaming time to sit in front of the TV. Dudes got a good slot, and the show deserves it.

Undateable focuses on four guys just trying to work out the finer details of dating while trying to balance that with all the other expectations that come in life. It stars Chris D’elia, Brent Morin, Rick Glassman, and Ron Funches, and was created by genius Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Cougar Town, Clone High). Like I said, if the show ends up being half as funny as these guys are in person, there is no doubt NBC has another hit on their hands.
