I said it months ago, and I wasn’t kidding. Netflix IS become the network to beat. Not only is their original program as good as anything on any other network, but now they are snagging up good shows in their entirety, and even bringing in episodes of said shows that none of us have ever seen. In this case, Netflix has landed Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Along with a slew of never-before-seen Director’s Cuts episodes. I knew it. The Force is strong with Netflix, and this pretty much cements that fact.
TV Line has the story, but we are pulling out all the good bits for you. In a massive deal, The Clone Wars will run its final season on Netflix. On top of that, they also inked a deal to run all the previous seasons, as well as some yet un-aired episodes of the show. The fact of the matter is, Disney is looking to milk as much money out of this franchise as they can. Having said that, I do not expect this to be the last Star Wars show we see. What this means is, if there is another original Star Wars show coming out sometime in the future, who do you think will have first dibs? Depending on the size of the deal and the fine print, it could be Netflix.
Netflix may have just pretty much BECOME the Empire. Wow, mind blown.
By the way, look for all the Star Wars action on Netflix starting March 7th of this year.
