Recap: True Blood 2.06 "Hard-Hearted Hannah"

We open in a bar, where Eric is drinking from a cheap girl (ie. hoochie) and abruptly stops when she calls him “baby”. We see a mysterious woman with a long dress walk by and Eric tells her to wait a moment and dismisses the hoochie. The mysterious woman is Lorena, Bill’s sire/maker. Oh, Eric, did you bring Lorena in to cause a riff between Bill and Sookie in an attempt to get Sookie for yourself? Because if you did, and if I’ve managed to figure out your plan in the first paragraph of this recap, then I’m going to be very disappointed.

By the way, I’m really sorry that I didn’t post this recap on Monday night as I usually do, but on Sunday I spilled water all over my brand new MacBook and completely destroyed it. As I told my fellow TVovermind writer, Jo, that sort of experience crushes your soul.

Sookie and Bill are waking up in the hotel room when a knock sounds at the door. It’s Isabel, the vampire from the previous episode, and Hugo (who apparently belongs to Isabel). Isabel offers Hugo to help Sookie with her Fellowship infiltration.

Back in the bar, Eric is telling Lorena that he wants Sookie. *Sigh* Really? So I was right about your plan then? Greaaaat. Lorena pretends she's not interested in Bill anymore, since they’ve been apart for 70 years, but Eric doesn’t buy it.

HA! Then there’s a flashback to Chicago in 1926, where Bill’s playing the piano at a house party, complete with girls in short hair and flapper dresses. Stephen Moyer doesn’t have a bad voice, but the whole set-up is hilarious. Lorena’s chatting with some the guests and pretending to be French. Lorena offers to swing with another couple who are into it. Finished with his song, Bill strides (seriously, there’s no other word for it) across the room to speak to the couple with a ridiculous French accent.

Yes, you`re right about the housing situation: Tara is living at Sookie`s house with Maryann, Carl and Eggs.nbsp; I honestly can`t remember, but Tara may have called Sookie in a previous episode to double-check that it was alright with her.nbsp; However, I suspect when Sookie returns home to find the giant orgy going on in her backyard, she might kick her `guests` out.

It sounds like this week had a lot more action than last week.nbsp; I'm enjoying your recaps a lot more than trying to suffer through the show.

So, if I understand correction, Tara is still living at Sookie's house.nbsp; And the psychic Sookie still hasn't caught on to the fact that her house is being used as a pseudo-brothel?nbsp; Or did I miss where Tara got her own place?

You're right and I'm sorry about that!nbsp; Due to DVR problems and the loss of mynbsp;Mac, I was forced to watch a less than sellar version of the episode, where the audio was skewed.nbsp; That's why I said the Newlins had an evil plan for Sookie, but didn't elaborate.nbsp; Thanks for pointing out what they said!nbsp;

So, how did they know that Sookie was coming to infiltrate the church?nbsp; Do you think they have a spy in the vampire camp?

You missed an important part of the story - when Sookie read Steve and Sarah's mind she heard Steve saying that "she's probably reading my mind at the moment" and Sarah thinking "don't be so hard on her the vampires made her come her". At this implies that Steve and Sarah knew who Sookie was the whole time (the attempted abudction at the airport?) and were expecting her arrival.

Yikes!nbsp; Thanks!nbsp; I don't know why I kept calling her Marina.nbsp; I think I'm bad with names, because I keep calling Daphne "Dawn" and then I have to go back and change it throughout the recap.nbsp; I do this every single week.
