Replacing Kevin Spacey with Kevin James in House of Cards

Can you imagine the funny, lovable Kevin James as the new Frank Underwood on the popular Netflix original show, “House of Cards?” Even if you chuckled a bit when you thought of it, don’t rule it out just yet. A group of Kevin James fans have taken to Twitter in an effort to get him as Kevin Spacy’s replacement on the show. The video found here highlights what a comical mash-up this could prove to be. What makes the entire idea even crazier is the number of people behind the movement, with over 30,000 people having signed the online petition for this change thus far.

The Petition – Origins

After Netflix announced its decision to pull the plug on Spacy’s part in the extremely popular hit, “House of Cards,” due to allegations of sexual abuse, a devoted fan began a petition on the site, Robbie Pyma stated that the replacement should be none other than Kevin James. Even though there is obviously some support for this movement, the likelihood that one Kevin is going to be replaced with another is highly unlikely.

The Video: Are You Ready to See the Change?

For many fans of “House of Cards” imagining anyone besides Spacy in the role of President of the United States is difficult. However, with the video you can see exactly what it would look like. After watching the video that lasts just over a minute, you can see the huge, astronomical train wreck this may be. The drama-filled, serious series would quickly be transformed in to a comical show, based on the reputation of James in his role as “Paul Blart: Mall Cop.”

However, it doesn’t matter if you agree, or disagree, with this change. The video is pretty amusing. After all, seeking James in the role with the infamous Blart mustache is enough to get a chuckle out of even the grumpiest of grumps.

The Video

In the video, you can see that the creator has superimposed James’s head on Spacy’s to show how he would look as the President. The video offers a mash-up of scenes from “House of Cards” as well as some of James most notable roles. In one scene, James is even kicked into a parked car by a horse. This video lets you see, first-hand, what “House of Cards” may be if James was schedule as the replacement. While it is comical, it may also help the show appeal to a whole new audience, while keeping its core set of fans.

As mentioned before, this is a move that is somewhat unlikely, but it isn’t one that hasn’t been done before. There are plenty of shows that have made the old “switch-a-roo” in the middle of a season, show, etc. Time will tell what Netflix will do, with many fans believing that Spacy’s character is just going to be killed off, as this is what happened in the UK version.
