Richard Dawson Dead at 79

Richard Dawson has passed away from cancer at the age of 79. Perhaps best known as the host of Family Feud, Dawson's big break was as a regular on Hogan's Heroes running from 1965 to 1971. Dawson hosted feud from 1976 to 1986, followed by a stint from 1994 to 1995. His legendary persona as a game show host was given a dark twist when he was tapped to play evil emcee Damon Killian in Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Running Man.

It was Richard Dawson's son, Gary, who broke the news this morning via Facebook. 'It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my father passed away this evening from complications due to esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered...'
