The Screen Actors Guild honored their own last night, but it appears the ballots from the Golden Globes may have found their way into the hands of the SAG bean counters. Among the repeat performances:
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series - Michael C. Hall (Dexter)
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series - Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife)
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series - Mad Men
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series - Glee
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries - Drew Berrymore (Grey Garden)
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries - Kevin Bacon (Taking Chance)
No doubt these wins legitimize the Golden Globes wins for all involved, but I still can't figure out how they managed to exclude John Lithgow. In a testament to their improvisational skills, none of the actors managed to reference how weird it was that the slate so closely mirrored the Golden Globes. That takes skill.
