Finally, some honorable mentions...
I was discussing this article with some friends over dinner a few days ago and two of them said that ANTM should go. And for the same reasons: it’s just become a vehicle for Tyra to stroke her vanity and it’s completely pointless. Because none of the winners actually go on to have exciting, amazing, fabulous modeling careers.
Unlike American Idol (which often turns its winners – and some non-winners – into genuine, long-lasting stars...well, in some cases) ANTM does not. So what's the point? The "challenges" are uninteresting and this is basically just a popularity contest among girls – not the first step to a fabulous career. At least, all that is according to my friends.
My loathing of most reality TV runs deep, which is why I don’t watch it. I watched one episode of The Bachelor because my friend Erika made me and I hated it (and her). So the criticism of this show again comes from my friends who say that the show has basically become a ridiculous joke and should end.
People cannot find real, meaningful, lasting love after only a few weeks of “getting to know each other” – especially if they’re trying to sift through 20 other potential suitors at the same time. Most of these relationships don’t work. And so the show is entirely pointless. Some have resulted in marriage, but the rest of it is just one big, ridiculous soap opera that really focuses on the worst of humanity (ie. girls fighting over guys and douchey guys who dump girls at last minute). These two shows make an absolute mockery of relationships and not in a good, entertaining way - but in a really sad way.
So what do you think? Any other suggestions for shows that should end or need fixing? Sound off in the comments below.

Great article, Clarissa! I have found FlashForward to be kind of slow the past 2 weeks but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will improve after the holidays, because I think there is a lot of potential there. Except Mark- I haven’t liked his character from day 1 and I think that the actor plays him very woodenly.
I know 2 shows that I *don’t* want overhauled in any way, and they are Glee and Vamp Diaries. Since I love these shows so much, that means they are doomed ;)

I felt the same way about FlashForward until I saw this weeks episode ( 10th, Australia ), it was amazing – first time I’m looking forward to the next episode!

Heroes is beyond saving. I don’t think there’s anything anyone can do that will get people to tune in again and I don’t see this kind of series running on a bit over 5 million. I don’t know why I still watch. After every episode I decide to stop watching but I always come back… just to be disappointed. So much material in Heroes is completely pointless. It’s like you said: so many scenes have just nothing in them. There’s no action and nothing new to learn about those characters. Why am I watching Noah refall in love with that lady they just forced into his past? Is this going to be important to the overall story? If they want to do a romance thing they have to do it in context of the show. Right now I feel like I’m watching several shows at once. It’s the carnival/Hiro story (OK), the Petrelli/Sylar story (good) and some romantic/teen angst crap with the Bennett family (Why?!).
I can’t break up with Heroes. It gave me so many beautiful moments. Sounds like I’m playing relationship chicken.
