God, if this is going to be anything like the original 80s series it'll suck so hard it'll be almost impossible to watch. IMO the new series is simply just awesome … season 4 had a few episodes I could have done without, but by and large this is still the best thing I've seen on tv in ages … by a long frakkin' shot.

if it isn't associated with the SciFi channel version, why bother? The original series sucked.

This article is a bit inaccurate. Battlestar Galactica aired in the 1978-1979 season for one. Second, Glen Larson sued for and won the rights to a Battlestar Galactica feature film in 2003 after the Sci Fi channel managed to sneak their way in and submarine the continuation efforts.

Even bad things come to an end. On to new beginnings! A lot of us are quite happy that this film is finally getting made!!!
