How Some Stars got their SAG Cards

One of the questions that is often asked during the SAG Awards red carpet interviews is how the stars got the coveted SAG card. It truly is a rewarding day when a struggling actor opens his or her mailbox to find the card inside.  Some of the answers were pretty interesting. 30 Rock‘s James Marsden received his SAG card after shooting the pilot episode of The Nanny.

Veep‘s Anna Chlumsky uttered the words, “It will hurt if I swallow.” in a commercial for Chloraseptic to become a SAG member.

The lovely Jennifer Lawrence earned her card in an MTV ad for My Super Sweet 16.

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson got his card from doing a Dasani water commercial.

Brad Pitt appeared shirtless in an ad for Pringles to obtain his card.

Remember the 80’s sitcom Bosom Buddies? Well, that is how Tom Hanks got his card.

Scandal‘s Kerry Washington played a cheerleader in an ABC After-School special in order to receive her card.
