SGUTVlogo-1"Fanboys" who cried for the death of the Stargate Universe might be crying for another year and a half for it to happen.

THR reports that SyFy has given the greenlight for a second season of the third entry into the Stargate franchise, which will premiere next fall. SyFy also renewed the other popular SyFy Friday drama, Sanctuary, for a third season, which will also premiere next fall as well. Both shows received a 20 episode order.

The article also spoke with executive producer Robert Cooper about what's to come in the second half of the first season, one thing of note: an alien race  along the lines of the "District-9" type creatures, which will not be your typical Stargate bad guys and will be handled in a SGU way. Another thing to note is more action on the ship and less on Earth.

THR also reports that MTV has decided to cancel it's talk show, "On The Air With Alexa Chung", which will air it's final episode on December 17th. The show ran for two seasons.

Thoughts?
