Take a Look at Sonic the Hedgehog’s New TV Show

Sonic the Hedgehog isn’t exactly king of the video game world any more, but now he’s trying to conquer a different form of media instead. SEGA  just announced a new animated Sonic TV show called Sonic Boom, and the first preview of it is above. It has all your favorite Sonic characters from the Hedgehog himself to Tail, Knuckles, Amy and more.

The characters have been given slight redesigns, but are mostly true to their original form. I’m a little surprised SEGA went with a TV show instead of say, a full-length animated movie. I mean, if Alvin and the Chipmunks can become a franchise, Sonic could too right?

Anyway, I’m curious to see if this show will be worthwhile. Granted, it’s not aimed at me, but it’s a beloved character from my childhood all the same. Ironically, the kids young enough to like this show will probably have no idea what the original games are like, and will only know Sonic as “that blue guy who does the Olympic Games with Mario on the Wii.” Boy, do I feel old right now.
