The CW has been having a bit of fun with their key demographic this season, which seems to be young, sex-crazed women who can't get enough of passionate sex and hot naked bodies. A few weeks ago they released an "OMFG" campaign for Gossip Girl where they showed two characters from the show in quite a sexually suggestive pose with the word OMFG across it. The Parents Television Council smacked them around a bit for their choice of advertising calling it a "deliberate use of profanity and sexual imagery to exploit and further corrupt young viewers." Wow, those PTC folks sure are a bunch of stick in the muds. Apparently they haven't seen the hot and sexy Melrose Place posters. And perhaps they missed the 90210 promo video from a week ago that used the words big, enormous, and balls, all in as sexually suggestive ways as possible.
So it really shouldn't come as a shock to anyone that they have now released promotional photos for their new drama The Beautiful Life with some of the 'beautiful' cast members naked (except for some very well placed show logos). Oddly absent from the 'naked' photos is show star Mischa Barton.
After seeing the promotional campaign released I've realized two things...1. The CW can't really shock or surprise me with their marketing anymore because they're not doing anything new...for them. 2. Am I the only male out there that's getting curious enough to actually watch these shows? Granted, I couldn't stand to listen to them, but watching them seems like a good idea.
