People don’t realize this but The People’s Court is still on television. Yes, it’s true. The show is currently in its 19th season and the judge for the show is Marilyn Milian. The show gave rise to all of the popular “judge” shows you see on television. Most notably, if it weren’t for The People’s Court then we’d have no Judge Judy and she wouldn’t have a net worth of over $40 million. The premise of these shows is arbitration-based reality court TV. A judge hears small-claims cases in this series that served as a template for several similar courtroom series. The litigants in the case agree to drop their lawsuits and have the case heard on the show.
In any event, the arguments and some of the people who appear on this show are absolutely hilarious. If you’ve ever watched a Judge Judy you can definitely see where I’m coming from. Not only are the claims sometimes ridiculous but the outrageous stupidity that sometimes takes place is beyond funny.
Speaking of funny, one of the key moments of the show where there’s a chance for supreme entertainment is when the winners and losers give their reactions to the decisions. This particular video that I’ve shared above is what I consider to be the best People’s Court ending in the history of the world. I have one word. “Mustache.”
