That's Right Vampire Diaries and Melrose fans, The CW has thrown some relief your way. Although the news of Vampire Diaries getting a full season pick up is hardly shocking, considering that the show has been doing great in the 18 - 49 demographics for the network, its still good to hear. Melrose Place, on the other hand has been doing absolutely terrible when considering just the Nielsen ratings for the show. When taking DVR viewing into account there are considerable gains. So for our Melrose fans out there (I'm talking to you Marc) this is still encouraging to see that The CW has a bit of faith left in the show, and that they're wanting to see how Heather Locklear, who is due to start appearing on the show soon, will end up doing to the overall ratings in the long run.
As for the specifics, the pickup of Vampire Diaries will give the show a full 22 season order. For Melrose Place, The CW picked up an additional 5 episodes which will bring the season total to at least 18 episodes. Short of any crazy programming choices, this should definitely take Melrose beyond the midseason mark.

THANK. GOD!!!!!
Thanks for the shout out, Bryan! The Vampire Diaries is the best thing since sliced bread. I am highly perturbed about the hiatus next week though.
I even added that DVR line in there just for you Mark. :)
