For those of you who know me, or who read my articles frequently, I'm sure you already know this, but for the rest of you out there, I don't really care for procedural shows. All the typical hits such as CSI, Law & Order, House, Bones, and NCIS simple don't interest me in the slightest. There are a few of them that I watch, such as Brothers and Sisters, Burn Notice (which is barely a procedural), and Castle. This season I'll be adding a new show to that list, at least initially, called The Forgotten.
Now, I haven't actually watched The Forgotten yet, so whether this show can hold on to my interests has yet to be seen, but the show stars Christian Slater, who I enjoy watching quite a bit, and is produced by Jerry Bruckhiemer, who I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt. But more importantly it's premise is one that sounds interesting to me. The show will focus on a group of amateurs that are part of something called The Forgotten Network which works on unsolved murder cases where the victim is unidentified. These aren't cops they're just everyday people, with jobs and families, who give their time and knowledge to help solve these crimes. You have to admit, the storyline seems compelling and interesting enough for me to give it a chance, but whether I stick around or not will definitely depend on the characters themselves. If you want to learn more about the new series, read our preview article here, and then tune in to ABC on Tuesday, September 22 at 10pm (ET). Below are the first promo photos from the pilot episode.
I have just watched the Forgotten for the first time and I loved it. It is a procedural as the writer suggested but Christian Slater is great and I like the premise.
