Remember The CW sitcom, 'The Game'? Well it's about to make a return to television, but this time try it's luck on cable channel BET.

Sources close to Black Voices Buzz (BV Buzz) got exclusive buzz that Paramount, the show's production company, and BET have "struck a deal" to produce fresh new episodes of the show, which has gained more popularity through reruns on BET since its cancellation last May. The show's second season was recently released on DVD with the third season (which was the show's final season before cancellation) possibly close behind it.

With the deal set in stone, the hard part is trying to re-recruit the show's cast since their contracts expired last June. One hurdle that has been worked out is that of actor Coby Bell, who played cheap footballer Jason Pitts.

""He will likely still be able to work on 'The Game,' but only as a recurring character instead of being a series regular," the BV Buzz source explained. Now how this fits with Jason's marriage to Kelly Pitts (Brittany Daniels) and to the team is a mystery.

It is expected for BET to try to renegotiate the casts contracts in the next two weeks and if things go as planned then new episodes will start filming in May in Atlanta, GA. The production value will remain the same and creator Mara Brock Akil will return as exec producer.

I'm excited and despite me not giving The Game props for originality (it reminds me of the extremely better British import Footballers Wives), I still will root for this show's return, because it shows that tenacity and a good product will be recognized if people don't give up on their show once one door closes. Expect ratings gold for BET if (and when) The Game goes into overtime on the channel.
