September 9th is not too far from here which means The Vampire Diaries fever is running a high temperature and can only be cured with a dose of news healthy enough for the most starved fan.

According to MTV News, co-producer Kevin Williamson (Dawson's Creek, Scream movies) let loose some very tantalizing details during Comic-Con a few weeks ago involving a "game changing" event that will involve all of the ancillary characters, which means more Bonnie, Caroline, and Tyler (and me an extremely happy camper).

"Something happens in the first episode that’s sort of a game changer," Mr. Williamson tells MTV. How big is this 'game changer'? Epically massive since everyone involved has been sworn to secrecy, which means that it might make next year's list of most "bitch-slapping" moments here on TVO.

What does this extra dosage of Bonnie, Caroline, Tyler and Matt include? Well, how about a new love triangle and a new girl to help give Matt and Tyler something else to fight about? Do you like? I like. Another threesome will come in the form of Damon, Alaric and a vampire mythology researcher named Vanessa. Hmm, sounds like Damon, Alaric and Isobel all over again, but this time one man knows about the other. Oh the possibilities! Expect more badass Bonnie as well, says Williamson, who teases that Mystic Fall's resident witch meant business when she advised Damon to engage in a new way of life, or else. Will she have to live up to her promise/threat?

And what about the fate of Jeremy, who decided to take the path of the damned to get over Anna's death? Well, we will have to wait till the premiere for that mystery to be solved.

The Vampire Diaries returns to drive us insane with it's spell Thursdays this fall @8/7c only on The CW.
