Have the Visitors already arrived?
When I first saw this story on Yahoo yesterday, my immediate reaction was, wow, ABC is really going all out to promote V, the new 80s remake series that will premiere on November 3rd at 8pm ET. If you haven't heard the story, or seen the video (below) basically a few days ago, in Moscow, the giant halo cloud appeared over the city freaking quite a few people out. You can't really blame them, I mean, if that cloud doesn't stir up memories of Independence Day and the original V, then I don't know what does. Conspiracy theorists are convinced that this is proof that the aliens are amongst us, while many others came out and claimed that it was obviously a photoshoped image. But meteorologists from around the world have come forward to explain. No, its not aliens, the image wasn't photoshoped, nor is it some elaborate viral marketing scheme of ABCs to promote their new series V. Apparantly, its nothing more than some very strange and unique weather conditions that all managed to converge at the same moment.
An official spokesperson for Moscow's weather department said, "Several fronts have been passing through Moscow recently, there was an intrusion of the Arctic air too, the sun was shining from the west — this is how the effect was produced."
So wait, then ABC has figured out how to manipulate the weather? Seriously folks, with V just a few weeks away from its premiere, what better promotional advertising can you get than mass histeria from people who think aliens have arrived. So ABC, if you're listening, try to fit this footage in with some of your V promotional scenes. Hell, edit this sucker directly into the pilot episode. Whatever it takes.
Now, take a look for yourselves and tell me this wouldn't work.

I'm still kind of wondering if ABC figured out how to control weather patterns and did this on purpose. Maybe that will be my conspiracy theory. :)

How could I have possibly missed this? So it was really real, not a fake? ABC must have a horseshoe firmly planted somewhere to have that happen 2 weeks before the premiere ;)

If ABC's learned to control the weather, it'd be nice if they'd actually use that to control viewers, making them WATCH V, so we might get it a bit earlier ;)

Wow, 'V' sounds just like….Obama. Offers "Hope" and "Change", and just wants to destroy everything and be worshipped while doing it. They should have just called it 'O' and been done with it.
