Wil Wheaton, self-proclaimed geek and Star Trek: The Next Generation's Wesley Crusher is having a good year. In July, at Comic Con, fans learned that Wheaton was showing up in the online hit web series The Guild as a villanous character that confronts Codex (played by Felicia Day) and her fellow guild members. The third season of The Guild just kicked off last week with the first episode which Wheaton guest stars in. And just a couple of weeks ago we got to see a fantastic role for Wheaton in TNT's Leverage, where he played a hacker in a rival group of theives. And now, it seems that Wil Wheaton will be showing up on an episode of The Big Bang Theory sometime this season. Wheaton announced the guest spot via his twitter page by saying,
"An announcement of extraordinary magnitude: I will be on an episode of #thebigbangtheory this season. That's all I'm allowed to say. GLEE!"
Wheaton's roles on the series is still top secret and completely unknown, but with the likes of Sheldon, Leonard, and the rest of the crew, he could certainly fit right in.
The Big Bang Theory ended last year with Leonard and Penny being separated by oceans, and while you can bet they'll end up back together it almost certainly won't be easy. As for when we'll see Wil and who he'll be playing, we'll just have to wait a bit longer. The Big Bang Theory premieres on CBS on Monday, September 21 at 9:30 pm (ET).
