While you may be waiting until October to see what happened to Rick Grimes's merry band of zombie survivors, you'll only have to wait until March to see them any time you like. That's when season one of The Walking Dead will be released.
The season, which wrapped with its sixth episode tonight, has been one of cable television's most well-received; it broke records for AMC, and was surprisingly able to hold onto (and even improve upon) its ratings. Last week's episode, "Wildfire," still holds a top ten spot on iTunes. (All five available episodes of the series are in the top 30). The show's been a massive hit.
Perhaps because of that, AMC has already locked a release date onto the DVD set of its most-watched series. While the dismally rated Rubicon still hasn't attained a release date, the zombie drama has been hammed into a spot at March 8, 2011. That's a little over three months from now. In the world of TV to DVD, that's incredibly quick. Even Mad Men's fourth season, which ended it's run two weeks before The Walking Dead premiered, isn't slated to appear on DVD until later that month.
The Walking Dead will return in October 2011 for season two, according to the most recent reports.
The Walking Dead is cool, but real horror lives at Renegade Video.
