Fans of the hit CBS sitcom, Two and a Half Men, spent the summer watching and reading about the controversy surrounding the show after former lead Charlie Sheen's career imploded. This resulted in a lot of people tuning into the season 9 premiere last night (read our review).
Specifically, 27.7 million viewers tuned into the season 9 Two and a Half Men premiere. Compare that to the 14.6 million viewers that watched the season 8 finale several months ago. Last night's premiere also garnered a 10.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a 12.2 rating among viewers 25-54 demo (contrasted to a 4.9 in the 18-49 demo and 6.1 in the 25-54 demo for the season 8 finale).
In other words, the audience size and ratings for the demo nearly doubled. Admittedly, a lot of people likely tuned in out of curiosity as to how the writers would deal with Sheen's character (spoiler: he was hit by a speeding train in Paris) and introduce Kutcher's character. It will be interesting to see what happens to the ratings next week.

American tuned in to watch both the new guy (kelso, I mean Kutcher) and bury the old guy, Sheen.
I am so happy with the Ratings for Two and a Half Mens season 9 premiere. This could mean more Seasons. I cant wait to see next weeks episode. Well done Chuck Lorre.
SUCKED! That show's dead!
