Under the Dome: CBS Teases New Summer Series and Website
CBS took an opportunity during the Super Bowl to air a teaser trailer for its highly anticipated summer series, Under the Dome, based on the novel by Stephen King.
The 13 episode mini-series is set in a small New England town that is inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by the surprise appearance of a transparent dome. The inhabitants of the town must figure out how to survive in their new conditions and try to discover the origin and future of the barrier.
The series is currently in the casting stages. The confirmed cast already includes: Colin Ford (Supernatural), Britt Robertson (Life Unexpected, The Secret Circle), Natalie Martinez (CSI: NY, Detroit 1-8-7), Alex Koch, Nicholas Strong (Nashville) and Jolene Purdy (Glee). Despite the early stages, the network put together the preview based on the novel's cover art and created a new, interactive website at underthedome.com.
Under the Dome premieres on Monday, June 24 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
