Despite not having a spot in my schedule for NBC's Undercovers, I still wanted it to succeed. It was, after all, the brainchild of my hero J.J. Abrams, who created two of my favorite TV shows of all time (LOST and Fringe). However, Undercovers just didn't cut it, and became Abrams' first show to not even make it through a full first season. Considering the series had high expectations all around, it was a disappointment to Abrams fans everywhere, even those who had no intention of ever tuning in (like myself).
Undercovers isn't quite under yet, though. The series, which will air its final regularly scheduled episode next Wednesday, December 1, has produced thirteen episodes. December 1's episode will be the ninth, leaving four episodes in limbo. While some networks might leave those for the DVD set, NBC has decided to give you a Christmas present of the Blooms' final exploits this holiday season, sandwiching Christmas with two of the four unaired episodes.
The tenth episode is slated to air on December 22, with the eleventh airing on the 29th. The show will be replaced in its time slot by reality shows The Sing-Off and Minute to Win It until then. What will happen to those other two episodes is still unknown, though as I said before, they'll probably end up on the DVDs as "special unaired episodes" of the series.
Are you sad to see Undercovers go? Will you be taking time out of your busy holiday season to watch Steven and Samantha Bloom bust some baddies one last time?
Don't forget about JJ's show 6 Degrees … did not make it through its first season either
Enjoyed this show also. I really got into this show but was disappointed being unable to see all the connections of the characters. Is it on DVD?
NBC is doing it again. Why couldn't the entire series be shown before taking it off. Maybe it should be turned over to TNT. I really enjoyed to show.
