Undercovers Canceled by NBC

I'm actually very sad to annouce this news to my colleague, Mark, because he liked this show.  Undercovers, created by J.J. Abrams, premiered on NBC in September 2010.

Unfortunately, the ratings for this show were not great.  Not enough to justify a full-season order or continued airing on the network.

It was somewhat different from Abrams' usual type of shows and centered around a husband and wife who used to be spies but now owned a catering business.  Of course, being similar to the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, they eventually got back into the spy business.

Multiple sources, including Variety, have reported that NBC has pulled the plug on Undercovers.  It appears that NBC will air three more episodes and then the show will be put to rest.  THR is also reporting that there are three additional episodes already shot, so the network may choose to air them at some point, but there's no word on when that might occur.

While the fate of Undercovers was unclear a few weeks ago, NBC picked up full season orders for Law & Order: Los Angeles, The Event and Outsourced.  They also ordered additional episodes for Chuck and extended that show to a full season.

Hey, to beautiful black people in a spy series? Can't do that, that's too much out of the norm. I told my wife, we better look at this, and enjoy it while we can, because they're going to cancel it. I know black people said, if we start looking at it, they're going to cancel it anyway, so why bother. It was nice while it lasted.

I knew the days were numbered. A series about a husband and wife team who are intellegent, smart and witty spies on the International scene who happens to be BLACK. ARE YOU KIDDING? That is reserved for white folks only like the Harts. Remember HART TO HART ? The beloved Nat "King" Cole was given his own variety show but it was cancelled for lack of corporate sponsors. AND THAT WAS IN THE FIFTIES!!!! I agree with the person Don who said to his wife,"we better look at this while we can" I will enjoy what is left.Maybe one day America will grow up. But I am not holding my breath.
