If you've been enjoying watching baby Amy grow up (and parents Chris and Reagan figure out what the heck they're doing), you're in luck, as Deadline is reporting that NBC has extended the season of freshman comedy Up All Night from 22 to 24 episodes. It's an extremely positive sign for the show, which becomes the first new fall show to get episodes tacked on to a previously full season order. This follows the news that the show, which has been airing Wednesdays at 8:00 since its debut, will be assuming the post-Office timeslot starting in January.
Starring Will Arnett (Arrested Development) and Christina Applegate (Married...With Children), Up All Night tells the story of Chris and Reagan, a formerly "cool" couple that is trying to stay hip while parenting their first child. The show also stars Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids) as Reagan's boss (and friend) Ava. Most recently, Up All Night drew a 1.9 18-49 rating, the same rating the show it's replacing (Whitney) received one day later.
Have you been watching Up All Night this season? If you haven't, does the jump to the network's "Comedy Night Done Right" make you more apt to check it out? Do you think Up All Night fits with the other Thursday comedies (30 Rock, Parks & Rec, The Office)?
It's a terrible idea, replace one of the best comedies in community and replace it with mid-west stay at home mom dribble. Nbc thurs night line-up reduced to two good shows (office and parks and rec) 30 rock is over the hill now, still funny but not as funny as it once was
Wow, this poster obviously hasn’t watched the show: it’s set in LA, not the Midwest, and it features a stay at home dad, not mom. Furthermore, the cast is brilliant and it is executive produced by Lorne Michaels, the premiere voice of comedy for going on 40 years. 30 Rock is over the hill, but you still think The Office is funny?! My god, Internet posters are morons…
