scott-wolf-four_288x384You can rest easy now, V fans – those production delays that got the rumor mill spewing woe were part of the plan all along.  Says who?  V star Scott Wolf, that's who.  Scott talked with our friends at UGO this morning and told them all about V's fractured airing schedule.  Read on for the low down.

"One of the things that I really wanted to make clear and I think it's really important for people who are gonna watch our show to know, is that from the outset the intent was to program this show, broadcast this show in a unique way.  It is a huge story. It's literally about an event, aliens arriving on Earth, that affects every single person on the planet.  So this is the kind of story that needs to be told at a great pace and with huge stories."  Wolf told UGO's Hilary Rothing.

V will be premiering with a four-episode run beginning tomorrow, November 3rd, at 8pm est.  After the four episodes have run, V will leave the air until late mid-season.  March-ish.  When news of the unusual scheduling first hit the net grouchy and uninformed pundits translated the podded approach as a sign that ABC was concerned over the quality of the show.  That rumor was no doubt spurred by a highly publicized production stoppage.

What these Wednesday's children didn't seem to notice is that ABC was actually airing V several months early, clearly a sign that ABC is confident in the show and wants to make this first pod 'Event' programming.  Is it worthy of 'Event' status? We think so.  In fact, long before the fall season kicked off we declared V the winner of the genre-programming shootout.

Be sure to check out the rest of UGO's exclusive interview at this link.

  1. Etalyx says:

If they were so "confident" in Lost that they released four episodes "early" with a 3-4 month break afterwards, heads would roll.
