Vegas Returns Tonight With 'Paiutes'
The winter finale of Vegas certainly left us with some interesting hanging story threads. We saw Sheriff Ralph Lamb and his brother Jack for once, not getting along swimmingly, and Dixon taking advantage of some freedom from his father and the smothering that Dixon considers himself victim of. Savino exercised his determination to protect his family, threatening Diane Desmond before finding her dead – an apparent suicide (but I’m not convinced), and a lingering romance between Ralph and Katherine was hinted at yet again while Jack and Mia’s secret affair gained momentum.
All of this leaves many possibilities for the coming episodes, and Vegas’ return tonight is sure to be great – if not extremely interesting.
The summary for tonight’s episode mentions that Sheriff Lamb will be abducted by a kidnapper out for revenge. This will be the first time we will see the Sheriff in a situation where he has no control, his life in the hands of others. Also in the episode, Katherine will enter some sort of partnership with Savino’s wife, Laura. Interesting, right? Especially considering that the two were less than friendly at the time of the Mayoral election. Will this new partnership circle back around to new Mayor Grady? Or perhaps some other topic of interest for the woman. After all, they are two strong women in a man’s town – maybe they will be fighting for women’s rights together?
Only tonight will tell.
Now, let’s address the title – “Paiutes.” I’ll admit – I looked it up, and according to the internet the Paiute are a group of Native American peoples inhabiting parts of the Great Basin region of the United States, which includes – you guessed it – Las Vegas, Nevada. Perhaps they are involved in the circumstances behind Lamb’s kidnapping?
Tune in when Vegas returns tonight, at 10/9c on CBS.
