Zelda: Breath of the Wild Has Heartwarming Tribute to Satoru Iwata

Since the launch of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, people have become aware of a secret tribute to former Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata.  However, the extent to the tribute hasn’t been uncovered until very recently. While the game does have a watchman named Botrick that bares a striking resemblance to the beloved industry icon, there’s more.  For starters, Botrick does direct the user to a beautiful vista that on its own would be a kind tribute to Iwata’s memory.

But if you look around the area just a little more carefully there are a few more clues to uncover.  Around Satori Mountain are several possible homages to Iwata including an apple orchard, an abandoned campsite and a legendary animal called the Lord of the Mountain, also known by the name Satori. The unconfirmed tribute is subtle but powerful and shows the impact Iwata had on Nintendo as well as the respect Iwata earned from the company’s developers.

This tribute is 100% confirmed but it would be odd of Nintendo to deny anything otherwise.   Check out the video below for more clues:
