We’re still awaiting word on how Zero Hour’s premiere held up ratings wise. The hour long genre offering was up against solid competition in the form of American Idol‘s Hollywood Week Finale, new Big Bang Theory, Community, and Two and a Half Men, and The Vampire Diaries. Definitely not a group I’d want to face down in a dark alley. Despite all that, this writer thinks that Thursday at 8 belongs to Zero Hour for however long it is on the tube. I love the rich mythology, the compelling characters, and the sense of mystery of Zero Hour. I’m as expectant for the ratings as the show-runners I’d imagine.
If you’ve failed to check it out, or if you are as addicted as I am, here are three clips from next week’s episode “Strike” that give a sense of how the stakes will raise next week. Relentless suspense, seems to be a fitting term.
“Strike” — It’s a race against time for Hank Galliston after his wife, Laila, is abducted by the international terrorist “White Vincent”. As the publisher of a paranormal enthusiast magazine, Modern Skeptic, Hank has spent his career debunking myths and investigating conspiracies. Now he is thrust into the middle of one of the biggest conspiracies in human history, sparked by his wife’s discovery of an antique clock that possesses much more than the power to tell time. With help from FBI Agent Rebecca “Beck” Riley and his two young magazine staffers, Rachel and Arron, they set out on a journey to find Laila, but soon find their mission is much bigger than just saving one woman. “Zero Hour” airs SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17 (10:02-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD: 2/14/13)
