Adam Carolla’s Comedy Pilot Picked Up By NBC

It seems that Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel are at it again, as NBC has announced a pilot order for an untitled comedy starring Adam Carolla. This marks the first comedy pilot for NBC this season, and the second consecutive comedy pilot for Carolla and Kimmel as well as for executive producers Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun and co-writter Kevin Hench.

The new pilot will follow a contractor (Carolla) as he begins rebuilding his life after a divorce. Carolla co-wrote the pilot with long-time writting partner Kevin Hench, who has worked with Carolla on The Man Show, Too Late with Adam Carolla, and also co-wrote the CBS pilot Ace in the Hole last year, which also starred Carolla but wasn’t picked up by CBS.

NBC has plans to pick up 18 pilots this season, with eight of those being comedies and the other 10 being dramas. Two of the drama pilots have already begun production, with Rex Is Not Your Lawyer filming already, and the pilot for Undercovers, from J.J. Abrams, in the casting process.
