There’s already talk of Arnold Schwarzenegger getting back into politics. In fact many are speculating that the former Governor of California is getting ready to run for Senate. However, Schwarzenegger squashed those rumors on Facebook by saying “I’m deeply flattered by all of the people who have approached me about running for Senate, but my mission right now is to bring sanity to Washington through redistricting reform like we passed here in California.”
A much larger question people are asking is if The Terminator could run our entire country. He and President Trump already had some beef on Twitter earlier in the year where Arnold offered to switch positions with Trump since Trump is an “expert in ratings,” after Trump made fun of The Apprentice ratings. As many of you know, Arnold has quit the show even though Trump insists he was fired. But the real question is who would win the Presidency? If Arnold ran against Donald in 2020 do you think Schwarzenegger would have a shot? I personally think he would destroy Trump. Unfortunately the law in the United States prohibits Arnold from even running.
Schwarzenegger, an Austrian native, became a naturalized citizen in 1983. However it is impossible for him to run for president, in a country where only natural-born citizens – born either in the United States or on foreign soil from at least one US citizen parent – can hope to become president or vice-president.
Looks like it’s time to change the law.
