Ashton Kutcher Gets A Second Chance At “Life”

It is 2:00 am central time when I log onto YouTube to be greeted by Ashton Kutcher, who is promoting The Beautiful Life: TBL again. Yes. the show was canceled back in September of this year.

YouTube and Reuters reports that Ashton Kutcher has brought The Beautiful Life: TBL to YouTube to burn off the rest of its episodes (there were five produced total) and if the episodes garner more hits online, then he will produce more original episodes; exclusively for the Web. In a statement made to Reuters, Kutcher claimed that “a show that couldn’t find its legs on television, we believe could find its legs on the Web.”

“What we feel like we’re doing is creating, in some ways, an industry first…”

If there is anything I can admire about Ashton Kutcher (and there is not a lot), it is his knack for tenacity and creative ways of promoting his product. The CW canceled TBL after two airings (we recapped the first episode here) and was immediately canceled after the second airing, which garnered at about 1 million viewers, a drop from the l.5 million premiere rating. With the show now being on the Web, it has a chance of flourishing into something entertaining than 2-5 minute webisodes.

As of this writing, the TBL YouTube Channel is at 494 subscribers and has plenty of additional content from cast and crew. The news broke two hours ago and the first three episodes of the series is available right now to watch, with the last two premiering Monday, December 21st.

I will give these puppies a look since I actually liked what Ashton had to offer with this one. What do you guys think?
