Cristin Milioti Signs on as “How I Met Your Mother” Series Regular

So we’ve finally met How I Met Your Mother’s eponymous mother and future wife to Ted, now the big question is how much more of actress Cristin Milioti we will see.  Milioti, a well known stage actress, was an instant success with HIMYM fans, and for good reason–she is simply charming.  Her TV experience, though, is scant.  Save for some notable appearances on shows like Nurse Jackie and 30 Rock, her career path seems more focused on Tonys than Emmys. That said, it looks like she is out to try something new.

CBS announced last week that Milioti will join Cobie Smoulders, Josh Radnor, Alyson Hannigan, Jason Segel, and Neil Patrick Harris as a series regular on How I Met Your Mother.  This makes Milioti the first series regular to be added since the series kicked off.

CBS has also states that the story arc that brings Milioti’s character together with Ted will encompass 24 episodes that take place over one weekend.  One.  Weekend.  That’s some ambitious writing right there, I half expect Kiefer Sutherland to show up in a cameo.

It has also been revealed that she will come to connect with Ted from the outside in, first meeting How I Met Your Mother‘s ensemble of characters before finally, fatefully, hooking up with the man himself.
