10 Reasons We’re Looking Forward to Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a title that has received a fair amount of interest from a wide range of people. In part, this is because it is made by CD Projekt, meaning that there are a lot of high expectations for it. However, it should be mentioned that the marketing for Cyberpunk 2077 has been encouraging as well. Here are 10 reasons that people should look forward to Cyberpunk 2077:

1. Made By CD Projekt

Past success is no guarantee of the same in the future. However, it is perfectly reasonable for people who enjoyed CD Projekt’s previous efforts to look forward to its next big release. After all, there is a good chance that if they enjoyed the video game developer’s games in the past, they will enjoy what they are working on now.

2. RPG Setting

Cyberpunk 2077 is based on a tabletop RPG called Cyberpunk 2020. Unsurprisingly, the 2020 envisioned by the tabletop bears little resemblance to the 2020 that is coming up in the very near future. However, there are nonetheless still fans of the tabletop RPG that can be found here and there, who are very excited to say the least.

3. It Got the Look Right

The tabletop RPG put a huge emphasis on style. In fact, when the section on the tone of the setting was written up, one of the most important points was “style over substance.” Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be living up to that setting choice with its opportunities for clothing as well as other costume options, which even come with stat boosts.

4. It Got the Attitude Right

Speaking of which, a sense of swagger was another important point about the tabletop RPG, which seems to have been replicated in what we have seen of Cyberpunk 2077 as well.

5. It Got the Availability of Tech Right

Cyberpunk 2020 put a huge emphasis on a couple of points that were supposed to be ubiquitous in the future. First, there was the availability of weapons. Second, there was the availability of high-tech enhancements. Given the existence of local neighborhood Ripperdocs in Cyberpunk 2077, it seems safe to say that the cyberpunk elements will be very much in the forefront of things.

6. Narrative Choice

There will be multiple ways to handle the various situations that come up in Cyberpunk 2077. As such, interested individuals can expect plenty of narrative choice that should enable them to handle things in the manner of their choosing.

7. More Intimate Relationship with Cybernetic Enhancements

Cyberpunk 2020 is far from being the sole title out there with cybernetic enhancements. However, the manner in which it handles them is looking more intimate than most of its counterparts. After all, there was a segment in the reveal demo that showed a Ripperdoc taking the player character’s eye out of their head, which remained capable of seeing as said individual installed the full list of requested upgrades.

8. Backstory Will Matter

Players are expected to take the role of a character named V. However, there are some elements that will be customizable to make the whole thing better-suited for interested individuals. In particular, it is worth mentioning the ability to choose various elements of the character’s backstory, which are supposed to have a meaningful impact on in-game interactions. Of course, this kind of thing has been promised for a fair number of RPGs out there, so it will be interesting to see how well Cyberpunk 2077 manages to live up to the hype in this regard when it comes out.

9. Lots of Player Character Abilities

It has been said that the player character can be equipped with a wide range of abilities to make them more capable of handling various situations in the manner of the player’s choosing. So far, interested individuals have gotten some idea of what it looks like when the player character is built for speed, seeing as how footage showed them using a fast dash as well as a bullet time mode to enable them to take out their opponents from new and most unexpected angles.

10. Expected to Come Out Sooner Rather than Later

The release date for Cyberpunk 2077 remains unknown. However, there are a lot of people who are expecting it to come out sooner rather than later. Sure, delayed gratification can produce very good results, but if it isn’t necessary, well, so much the better.
