Dancing with the Stars Season 15 All Stars Pairings Announced

The Dancing with the Stars star and pro pairings for Season 15’s All Stars have been announced and yes, many returning celebs are reuniting with their former partners! For the first time ever, celebrities who competed on seasons past return to the show for another run at the Mirrorball Trophy. But this time the competition is much tougher, as they must compete against accomplished previous winners and runners up. See the star and pro pairings below:

Kirstie Alley & Maks Chmerkovskiy: These two flirted and fought their way through Season 12 and are about to do it again. Hands off this time Kirstie, Maks is in a full on romance with fellow pro Peta Murgatroyd.

Joey Fatone & Kym Johnson: Fresh off a successful 4 month stint in the Dancing with the Stars Las Vegas show, the former N-Syncer has his ballroom shoes warmed up and ready to go with former partner Kym Johnson.

Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas: Who else could handle the volatile situation of a Palin? None other than former partner Mark. The Tea Party antics, death threats and television shooting from Season 11 took a toll on Mark, but he rose above it and sailed into third place with a less than talented partner. Can he do it again?

Emmit Smith & Cheryl Burke: This former NFL running back, famously dubbed “Twinkle Toes” when he scored his Mirrorball win in Season 3, is reunited with Cheryl and admits to being nervous about competing against five other champs.

Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani: TV personality Melissa was a last minute addition to Season 8, replacing an injured Nancy O’Dell two days before the season premiere. Coming in second place that first week, she ultimately danced into the Top 3 with Tony and was a favorite among fans.

New pairings:

Apolo Anton Ohno & Karina Smirnoff:  Apolo competed in Season 4 with former pro Julianne Hough, beating out Joey Fatone for the Mirrorball win. Will he bring his lucky soul patch back to the ballroom floor?

Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough: Shawn was the youngest contestant ever to win on the show, having beat Gilles Marini by a hair in season 8 with pro partner Mark. This Olympic gold medalist stands a good chance of capturing the Mirrorball yet again as she is paired with fan favorite and oft winner Derek.

Gilles Marini & Peta Murgatroyd: Back to defend her Mirrorball win of last season, Peta will be in good company with runner up Gilles from Season 8. Fans will recall Gilles came thisclose to the trophy with Cheryl Burke, losing by less than 1% to Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas.

Pamela Anderson & Tristan MacManus: Finally Tristan has a partner under the age of 50, (though she’s close to it!), but she’s also a hot mess. She has vowed to remain celibate during her Season 15 run, (got that Tristan?) and to stay out of trouble so that she can really focus this time. Dancing with the Stars fans will recall she was eliminated in week 7 of Season 10, thus making her the only contestant not to reach the Finals.

Kelly Monaco & Val Chmerkovskiy: General Hospital star Kelly was Dancing with the Stars’ Season 1 winner, after a hotly contested finale competition against runner up John O’Hurley. The viewer outcry and ensuing bad publicity lead to a Dance Off between the two, with John emerging the winner. Kelly held onto her official Mirrorball; however, as the televised Dance Off was for charity and did not change the official results.

Helio Castroneves & Chelsie Hightower: Race car driver Helio won the trophy in Season 5 and also allegedly romanced pro partner Julianne Hough, leading both of them to postpone their respective weddings to others.  Will Helio fall for another cute blonde?

Drew Lachey & Anna Trebunskaya:  This former boy bander won Season 2 with partner Cheryl Burke on the heels of their infamous Ride A Cowboy freestyle, which was sampled by Peta Murgatroyd and Donald Driver in their cowboy freestyle last season. Last time Drew was on that ballroom floor, he was awaiting the birth of his first child; hopefully he won’t have that kind of pressure this time around.

There is still one big Dancing with the Stars announcement in the offing: who will be voted in as the 13th contestant? Will it be Carson Kressley, Sabrina Bryan or Kyle Massey? You can still cast your vote here.  The 13th contestant and his or her partner will be revealed live on Good Morning America on Aug. 27.

My money is on Carson for the win. Not only he is uber entertaining, who doesn’t want to see him and Bristol hanging out in the skybox? The Dancing with the Stars Season 15 All Stars premiere airs live Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. (ET) on ABC.
