First Look The Flash’s Full Costume for His CW Debut

flash5

I grew up on comic books, so the fact that some lesser known heroes have been getting TV shows has been pretty great. The younger nerd in me never saw this coming (well, we did have a Flash and Superman show before, but both were pretty weak sauce). The CW has been repping DC quite nicely lately. First we had Smallville, then Arrow, and now as a spin off, we have The Flash. A show about scientist Barry Allen who has the ability to move at super speeds. Little has been revealed so far, but we have a first look at the costume, and I will admit,  I am pretty impressed.

Like most good super heroes, Barry Allen becomes The Flash after a “freak accident” grants him the ability to move at super human speeds. He, of course, uses this skill for good and to help people who need it. You know what I love about comic books and comic book shows? Freak accidents always lead to good things. You suddenly can fly or see the future or other such cool things. In real life, a freak accident usually means you have one less limb and need to wear an eye patch the rest of your life. See, comics win.

I will admit, they made the outfit look pretty sweet. The red spandex from the comic book did not seem like it would translate well to the small screen, and the CW knew that and went in the same direction they go for costumes on Arrow. Smart move, and hopefully The Flash will be just as good as that show.
