Five Things You Didn’t Know About Jamie Linden

Jamie Linden is a screenwriter who was born in Florida on September 3, 1980. The work for which he is best-known is as the writer of the 2006 movie ‘We Are Marshall’ and the 2010 film ‘Dear John’. Although he wrote his first script in 2004, he was not successful in this career until two years later. He is now established in the film industry and is continuing to become more successful as a screenwriter for the film industry. Here are five more things you probably do not know about the screenwriter Jamie Linden.

1. He Worked as an Assistant to Directors

Prior to becoming a screenwriter, Linden was already working in the entertainment industry. He worked as an assistant to directors Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollock at Mirage Enterprises. He then moved to Hollywood after initially visiting to go on the game show ‘The Price Is Right’ and winning $5,000. He decided that this was an omen that he should stay in Hollywood and worked reading feature film screenplays. He was unsuccessful in several assistant positions, from which he got fired. He decided that he would write his own screenplay instead. His first screenplay was ‘Things to Do Before I Die’.

2. He is a Father

Jamie Linden is juggling his professional life with parenthood as he has recently become a father. His girlfriend, Rachel McAdams, gave birth to the couple’s first son on April 10, 2018. Rachel McAdams is a Canadian actress who is best-known for her roles in ‘Perfect Pie’, ‘Doctor Strange’, ‘Game Night’, and ‘The Hot Chick’. The couple and their son live together in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

3. He is Best Friends with Scott Porter

Jamie Linden is very close friends with Scott Porter, an actor who stars in ‘Friday Night Lights’. The two attended Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida, together. Linden was even Porter’s groomsman when he married Kelsey Mayfield in April 2003. Porter and Mayfield now have two children together; a son, McCoy Lee, and a daughter, Clover Ash.

4. He Made His Directorial Debut with ’10 Years’

Although he is best-known as a screenwriter, Jamie Linden has tried his hand at being a director. He made his directorial debut with the 2011 independent film ’10 Years’, which he also wrote. This romantic comedy starred Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan, Justin Long, Kate Mara, and Rosario Dawson. This film had a limited release in selected movie theaters in the United States only. Since then, Linden has stuck to screenwriting as he wrote the 2006 film ‘Money Monster’ and a film called ‘Chaos Walking’, which is set for release in 2019.

5. He is Writing a Film About Bill Johnson

As he has now risen to prominence within the film industry, Jamie Linden is undertaking more screenwriting projects. He currently has a busy working schedule with three projects underway. The first is a biographical film about Bill Johnson, a downhill skier who was an Olympic gold medallist. The second project is a screenplay adaptation of ‘The Dogs of Babel. Linden’s third project is a television pilot called ‘Flash Back’.
