2016 Golden Globes: Outlander, Mr. Robot, and Fargo Lead Nominations

Outlander - Golden Globes

The nominations for the 73rd Golden Globe Awards were announced Thursday morning, and unlike many of the SAG Award nominees from yesterday, the Golden Globes featured lots of new faces and shows. In fact, the six most recognized TV programs were all first-year series, as Starz’s Outlander, USA Network’s Mr. Robot, Amazon’s Transparent, ABC’s American Crime, FX’s Fargo, and BBC Two’s Wolf Hall all landed three nominations a piece.

The Golden Globes’ admiration for new shows and performances continued in other spots as well, with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘s Rachel Bloom received an acting nod. Lady Gaga also snagged a nomination for her work in American Horror Story: Hotel, and Aziz Ansari was nominated for his performance in his critically-acclaimed Netflix comedy Master of None.

The Golden Globes will be broadcast live on NBC on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, with Ricky Gervais serving as the show’s for the fifth time.
