The Good Place is Renewed for Season 3 by NBC

The Good Place is a fantasy comedy that started up in September of 2016. Its first season met with a positive reception, so it should come as no surprise to learn that it was renewed for a second season. As it turned out, the second season of The Good Place met with a positive reception as well, so much so that the series has now been renewed for a third season.

For those who are unfamiliar with the name, The Good Place is centered around the idea that a woman named Eleanor Shellstrop has gotten into the titular afterlife after she was killed in a freak accident. However, she did not deserve to go to the “Good Place” because she was mistaken for someone else with the same name in a classic example of a bureaucratic mix-up. As a result, much of the first season was centered around Shellstrop hiding the truth while doing her best to become a better person with the help of her newfound friends, Chidi Anagonye, Tahani Al-Jamil, and Jason Mendoza. However, there is a huge spoiler at the end of Season 1, with the result that Season 2 is not what most people would have expected based on the short description of the series’s basic premise. Something that should encourage people who love their well-crafted twists and turns to check out The Good Place when they can find the spare time.

What Do We Know about Season 3 of The Good Place?

Unfortunately, the announcement of Season 3 of The Good Place was a recent announcement. As a result, there is not much information that can be found out there about what interested individuals can expect from it. Still, they should continue paying attention to entertainment news so that they can hear the latest information about The Good Place as soon as it becomes available to them.

With that said, it is fun to speculate about some of the possibilities for Season 3. For example, there was a problem with Season 2 in that it saw a huge reduction in the number of cast members who mattered in the narrative for reasons related to the huge spoiler at the end of Season 1. As a result, it would be interesting if Season 3 expanded the scope of the series to encompass more of the setting, whether by bringing in more characters who matter in the narrative or by providing us with a broader look at the setting as a whole. In particular, it would be nice to connect this expansion to elements that have shown up in previous seasons, which would be a neat way to build on what came before.

Of course, the sort of thing that would be most interesting would be bringing in the other place. This is particularly true because while the other place has not had an impact on The Good Place, its presence looms over the narrative. As a result, should the other place make an appearance in Season 3, it is bound to have a big impact without looking as though it came out of nowhere. Summed up, no matter what happens in Season 3 of The Good Place, it seems reasonable to expect that it will be something spectacular.
