Grimm Season 2 First Look

grimmIn its first season, Grimm had an episode centered on an underground fighting ring and introduced countless types of weaponry that Detective Nick Burkhardt had to become familiar with in order to survive. Though by no means gruesome, the show didn’t poke its head into the sand regarding violence, with gun play and scenes of hand-to-hand combat finding their way into just about every episode. It was a necessary evil for Nick to become the hunter that he was meant to be, but with his confidence growing in his abilities, things are changing.

For the better, arguably, as Grimm promises Nick will become even more bad ass in the upcoming second season. The first season found the Portland police officer merely trying to figure out who the hell he was and what all of this new stuff meant, but now that he’s had experience being a Grimm, he can afford to go bigger, take more risks. It certainly helps that Monroe’s grown right along with him, as well as the return of his mother, a fellow Grimm purported to be more sophisticated in skill than her son. With that kind of back-up, the monsters creeping up on Nick don’t seem so scary after all.

In addition to all the promised butt-kicking and familial drama, Grimm has added another guest star in Josh Stewart, who will be introducing the Badger-esque creature called a Drang-Zorn into the Grimm-verse.

The second season of Grimm premieres Monday, August 13th at 10:00, where it will air three episodes before moving back to its Friday time slot on September 14th. You can check out a clip of the premiere, pics from the upcoming season, a few spoilers, and a recap of the first season here, here, here, and here.

Will you be watching the second season of Grimm? Can Nick fully embrace his newfound reputation and abilities to become an even better Grimm? How long do you think it’ll take before he forgives his mother for hiding for so long?
