Smallville will begin it’s 10th and final season on Friday, September 24 and already stars from seasons past are lining up for guest appearances and multi-episode roles. It’s looking like season 10 of Smallville could easily be the best season of all. Already we’ve learned that great characters like Pa Kent (John Schneider), Braniac (James Marsters), Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort), and Hawkman (Michael Shanks) will all return at some point this season. But there are still some fan favorites missing from this list, most notably Michael Rosenbaum who played the villianous Lex Luthor.
I’d love to have news that Rosenbaum is returning to Smallville this season, but perhaps this is the next best thing. Michael Ausiello has reported that John Glover will return to Smallville, reprising his role of Lionel Luthor for at least two episodes, both of which will air sometime in November. Sources are keeping a tight lip on just how Lionel will return from the apparent dead. He was last seen on Smallville during season 7, when Lex pushed his father out of a high-rise window where he fell to his death (at least that’s how it appeared).
Do you have any guesses on how Lionel Luthor will be brought back from the dead? Do you think this is the first step in Rosenbaum coming back to the show for a guest appearance, or is Lex’s return a lost cause? Let us know in the comments below.
